Shatterproof and shock resistant - to minimise the chance of breakage from the impact of stones and other debris
Rigid - to retain the screens shape and avoid distortion under extreme wind pressure and high temperatures
Safer - in extreme circumstances should the screen break, the resultant edges should not be sharp.
